A clear line

OR STUDIO FURNITURE is a brand with a clear identity. Each product is a variation of the same principles. A chair is not just a self standing object of design but a part of a larger family. When all the objects are displayed in a room, a harmony is bringing them together.

The first principle of this identity is the material, European ash wood. At the beginning I started to work with ash wood because I was looking for a hard wood with a light color. Then I realized that ash wood actually has different color tones and a beautiful grain. The heartwood is dark, and the sapwood is clear. After the first prototype, I understood that these color changes would become the visual identity of the brand.

The second principle is the simplicity of shapes. In furniture making as in construction in general we mainly have vertical and horizontal elements. I see the vertical elements as columns and therefore rounded, and the horizontal elements as plateaus which can be rounded as well or rectangular. This vision is inspired by concrete architecture, brutalism and minimalism.

Back to basics

OR STUDIO FURNITURE offers the basics of furniture and simplifies our interiors with long-lasting objects.

It is sometimes hard today to know what a chair is made of. It might be comfortable, but our relation with the object is often too superficial. By using solid wood in generous dimensions, a bit thicker than usual, I hope that one can feel where the chair comes from and create a deeper connection with the object.


OR STUDIO FURNITURE will show its first four products during the DDW. They are the most needed objects in a house. : A dining table, a dining chair, a lounge chair and a side table. Later on the collection will be extended to different sizes of rounded and rectangular dining tables, coffee tables, beds, couches…

The dining table is a four-seater rounded table of 120 cm in diameter. The dining chair and the lounge chair are rectangular chairs with a unique way to connect the legs, the seat and the backrest. The side table is 32 cm in diameter, with two plateaus, and can be used aside a bed or a couch.

Our ethic

I deeply believe that wood is a very important material for our future. It has always been there and should always be. Working with wood is also working with forests, and those are so important for the coming decades that we really need to be aware of them and treat them with all the care they require. Choosing a responsibly cultivated wood to build our objects of design is a great way to protect our natural spaces and encourage our society to make them grow. OR STUDIO FURNITURE loves design and nature equally. This is also why we protect our pieces with a natural hard wax.

As a young brand, it was quite a challenge to find a good partner to produce our pieces. After a long search we finally found the perfect company in Lithuania, with whom we work with a made to order strategy to minimize transport and avoid any loss.
