the overwhelming beauty of high sensitivity

Notitia is an holistic approach to the overwhelming beauty of intense perception. It invites to explore the perception filters of high sensitive people and also your personal ones.

Perception filters

When the mind's veils unravel. When the barriers of thought dissolve. When the noice of your surroundings gets under your skin.
One in five people are high sensitive. How do they perceive the world?

Design concept

Inspired by different permeable membrane structures, the design concept symbolizes the various perception filters of people. Some filters are thinner, some thicker. This one filters more stimuli, the other one let pass through a few more.
To represent the difference in human minds, membranes are made with different approaches. Reaching from materials like glucose, bioplastic, and leaves, over AI generated ones, recaching to abstract membrane structures that change in response to sound. As seen in the animation, they react to altered sounds recorded in places that are typically a trigger for high sensitive people, whether through the perception of intense calm or overstimulation. This immersive animation transports viewers into abstract worlds.
The theme is further explored through expert knowledge compiled in a booklet, featuring insights from specialists, psychologists, and philosophers, alongside personal experiences of high sensitive individuals shared through interviews and poems.
