Morphing Grounds

Experiment without heat

Morphing grounds is an invitation to share knowledge and talk about soil quality.

Intro

The ground under our feet is constantly changing, not only because of geological fault lines but also because of climate change. The Netherlands is known for its beautiful landscapes that look peaceful. However, a much less known phenomenon are the toxic soils: areas that have become heavily polluted in the present or past. Sometimes the pollution is so severe that it poses a direct or indirect danger to humans and nature. What new chemical dangers could arise now or in the future?
During Dutch Design Week, Studio Liselot Cobelens is investigating how much local knowledge there is in the Netherlands about potentially hazardous soils. She wants to gather this information to start a new project that provides insight into this story.
With “Morphing Grounds,” Studio Cobelens invites everyone to share their knowledge on this topic and become part of the project. In addition, Cobelens provides insight into the current state of poisonous soils within the Netherlands. Do you have no knowledge yourself, but would like to learn more about this topic? Then come along and become part of 'Morphing Grounds' as well.
