We are showcasing at Dutch Design Week with "X (Chiasm)," exploring chiasm—a rhetorical structure where two elements invert and intersect, creating new meaning. As temporary residents of Europe, we examine how our different lifestyles mirror and intersect within individually defined 13.3m².
This year, we present our first exhibition at Dutch Design Week, titled "X (Chiasm)".
The X symbolizes the crossing of two connected elements, (A) and (B), where form is shared but content differs. As temporary residents of Europe, we explore how our diverse lifestyles intersect within our 13.3m² spaces.
The exhibition focuses on the interaction between (A) the subject and (B) the object, drawing on the rhetorical concept of “Chiasm.” This idea highlights how (A) humans and (B) the world are interconnected rather than separate. The boundaries between them blur, influencing and shaping each other, creating a web of relationships.
Through this exhibition, we present “scenes of dwelling” in Europe, inviting foreigners and European citizens to explore these intersections. Our project serves as a tool for understanding cultural diversity and identity. We showcase products designed for living spaces to communicate our collective experience, recognizing boundaries while exploring shared elements that foster connection. Rather than blending or fusing, we focus on unique moments where differences meet and coexist.
