Central to the design is the Shippou pattern, a motif originating from Japanese family crests during the Heian period, symbolizing harmonious and fulfilling relationships. Introduced to Taiwan, the Shippou pattern became a defining element in the iron window designs of that era. Paired with the Shippou is the begonia pattern, which shares the same geometric foundation and symbolizes resilience and perseverance, reflecting emotions of homesickness and enduring ties within Chinese culture.
