The installation explores and communicates on multiple levels how we can restore and redefine our mutual relationship with the most important element of life: WATER.
This is in line with the intention of this year's Embassy of Water to bring together Science and Magic
Connection with water as a (living) entity in the built environment.
What
Connecting with water as an entity in the built environment
Who
Lydia Fraaije Voice of Water 2023-2024 and Biomimicry and Biophilic architect.
Why
We know that everything is connected by water. Where there is water there is life. Every living being is born in water and continues to be a waterbody. Water gives life and water sustains life. When life ends water leaves the body.
In every religion or belief water has (had) multiple spiritual meanings. The meaning of giving life, (re)birth, power, cleansing, knowledge, salvation, refreshment, healing, transferring, flowing, energizing and so on.
This installation is, on multiple levels, researching and communicating how we can restore and redefine our reciprocal relationship with the most important element of life: WATER.
What does it mean and what would it look like for us and our built environment to have an everyday worldly connection with water as an entity. Following up in accordance with the stated intention for water to bring Science and Magic together.
What can you experience?
In the middle of the Embassy of Water is a Triskelion. This indigenous shape symbolizes a trinity. In the three shaped spaces you can feel, see, read and listen to stories that take you into a world told from the perspective of water. This ties in with the indigenous way of transferring information and sharing knowledge through storytelling. Let yourself be carried away and take your time.
