Opening & Closing of a Speculative Future

These two events frame the installation of the speculative future "Sex in the City".

Q4ll & Nøha

You are warmly invited to the official opening and closing events of Sex in the City taking place on Sunday, 20th and Saturday, 26th of October from 18:30 to roughly 21:00 on Stadhuisplein.

What to expect

Sex in the City combines architecture and futures thinking to speculate on two major urban trends: climate change and the housing crisis.

OPENING - Sunday, 20th Oct.
After a short introduction by the curators at the bar, we will step into the year 2097. Cocoon your human body sufficiently and join us for an evening of extreme urban nomadism.
What does a future of constant extreme weather and unaffordable housing look like?

CLOSING - Saturday, 26th Oct.
We will meet in the year 2097 and from there land back in the present, reflecting and taking stock of what can inspire our next steps into a desirable future.
What can we learn from a future of constant extreme weather and unaffordable housing?

Drinks and good street vibes will ease the travel.

The curators from Nøha and Q4ll will be present during both events, as well as artist Eva from ESG, to share their process and thoughts behind the making of this installation.

About Q4ll & Nøha

The speculative future installation Sex in the City was developed in close collaboration between Q4ll, a studio for experiences with unusual futures, and Nøha (Not only human architecture), a collective lab that challenges the design process of space-making.

The three curators Ani Safaryan (Nøha), Andrea Suardi (Nøha) and Lena Tünkers (Q4ll) brought together design and futures thinking to spark new perspectives and questions about modern trends and future developments.
