As an alternative to short-lived plastic toys, Cubcho lets children create their own ā using only old paper, water, and natural materials. From design to finished block, they master the process, gaining skills, confidence, and respect for reuse. Built to last, it grows with the childās imagination.
Process
Cubcho is built on the philosophy that less is more. With only old paper and water, children create their own building blocks for play. Additions like colors, spices, seeds, or natural finds enrich the experience with discoveries and spark the thrill of making ājust one more.ā At its heart, Cubcho is about the processāwhere children take charge: exploring, making design choices, mastering the tool, and finding their own rhythm. It helps them slow down, focus, and connect with the materials.
Learning
Designed for curious minds aged 3ā12, Cubcho is a playful tool for children, educators, and people of all abilities. When children work with their hands and have fun, learning happens naturally. Cubcho provides a simple structure that gives freedom for imagination to run wild.
Once dry, the blocks transform into tools for play and learning, from storytelling and math to building and design. Cubcho includes an illustrated manual and a Classroom Guide with lesson plans, games, and experiments linking sustainability to science, art, language, and daily life.
Experience
: Made from stainless steel and natural wood, Cubcho is built to last for generations. It feels likeāand truly isāa real workshop tool, filling young makers with excitement and confidence as they master each step. Combined with the sensory richness of natural materials, it becomes a complete experience, engaging sight, touch, and scent in a gentle, subtle way. The greatest joy comes when a child, amused and proud, sees their block for the first time.
At Dutch Design Week, visitors are invited to step into this process themselves: grinding paper, mixing textures, and pressing a cube to take home.
