New concepts for the future use of wood- and cellulose-based materials.

The exhibition showcases various future-oriented concepts that are the result of research conducted into new bio-based materials by students, researchers, lecturers and professors from Aalto University. CHEMARTS is based on continuous and inspiring collaboration between design and scientific material research.

Aalto University, Department of Design

CHEMARTS is a long-term collaboration in education and research between two Aalto schools, the School of Chemical Engineering (CHEM) and the School of Arts, Design and Architecture (ARTS).

The schools merged their forces with the aim to invest in new ways to harness wood and other bio-based materials. The main idea is to research the performance and design of advanced cellulosic materials for innovative uses.
