The Embassy of Mobility took a world tour in 2020 and looked at the consequences of Covid-19 for mobility. How adaptive and flexible are our mobility systems, and how do they influence our quality of life? Together with relevant partners, we collect examples and share insights. In conjunction with extensive research, this formed the basis for a virtual exhibition that we will present during DDW.
The Embassy of Mobility stands for mobility in which societal impact takes centre stage: accessibility, sustainability, safety and health. During these Covid-19 dominated times this forces us to take difficult decisions, but our starting position for mobility remains the quality of life in our cities and countryside. How can we use public transport in our 1.5-metre society? Do we opt for lower emissions or convenience and affordability? What does this mean for the connections between countries and continents? Together with partners and designers, the Embassy of Mobility seeks inspiring directions for solving the issues that have arisen since the arrival of the Covid-19 crisis.
