"Daring to radically challenge the current techniques used for designing and building a home", that is how the pioneers from the world of circular and biobased construction set to work. During Dutch Design Week, they present "The Exploded View".
During Dutch Design Week, they present "The Exploded View". A detached house that has been rebuilt using circular methods and biobased materials. This innovative installation shows the existing and future possibilities of this sustainable way of building and living.
The Exploded View is the result of a complex research program in which designers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers work together on climate- and people-friendly solutions for the vast construction challenges that the Netherlands is facing. They all combined their forces and knowledge as the Embassy of Circular & Biobased Building. The Exploded View is a "live research" and "storytelling" installation. The installation incorporates applications and materials of today, tomorrow, and of the long-term future. "With a scale model and through a life-size blueprint, we show what we have discovered, but also show what we don't yet know. We will discuss its qualities as well as its weaknesses. And we invite everyone to think and act with us. Because there is so much knowledge available, and still no right method or solution for sustainable building and living”, says designer Pascal Leboucq of Biobased Creations.
