Design activism

WDW United Barcelona Design Week

"Design activism. A call to action" is the 15th Barcelona Design Week motto (17-26 November'20). It represents a mobilization of the sector and the activism of professionals and companies in order to deploy design capable of creating equality, balance and trust, for both the planet and people".

At Dutch Design Week we present two collaborative projects:
1) Madrid ‚Äď Barcelona BRIDGE: ‚ÄúReflections on the cities of the future‚ÄĚ. Madrid Design Festival and Barcelona Design Week have established a bridge of collaboration and made a¬†process of reflection with the participation of students of both cities,¬†analyzing current challenges and proposing solutions to tackle them.¬†The results are presented in the video made by The Others.

2) Across Borders is an exhibition of collaborative posters, a live immersive experience between two artists in different locations in a virtual reality environment.¬†To fulfil its commitment to people suffering from borders' cruelty, Across Borders will donate to refugee women Dignity Kits with essential toiletries.¬†The exhibition during the Barcelona Design Week will be organised by Barcelona Design Centre and May√ļscula.
