Visser & Meijwaard proudly presents an overview of our studio’s most recent works at the Dutch Design Week 2021. The exhibition covers the complete ground floor of the Albert van Abbehuis displaying the diversity of materials and techniques we practise.
By collaborating a framework is set. We thrive within the limits of possibilities.
Developing a product with a third party is something we greatly enjoy. For several years now Visser & Meijwaard have been collaborating with a wide range of partners. Working together creates an exclusive approach in the design process; the sum is greater than the parts. Our studio aims for a timeless and lasting design. Inspired by the DNA of a design label, or the specifics of a craft, a unique piece arises.
Together with Esmé Hofman and van Tetterode we created ‘Craftwork’. Through a series of luminous objects, combining detailed basketry with colourful mouth-blown glass, we express our contemporary vision on these beautiful crafts.
In collaboration with Pulpo we show new colourways of our glass and metal ‘Lyn’ cabinets and our ceramic ‘FG’ vase series.
In collaboration with Linteloo we launch ‘Phoenix’. A collection of grand lamps built from mouth-blown glass elements. By adding oxides during production an intriguing marble effect is created.
Visser & Meijwaard launch their partnership with MoooiCarpets introducing ‘Lint’. This collection of colourful carpets shows a bold interplay of woven silk ribbons creating a graphic pattern.
