Uniformal Expressions is a project that is inspired by ancient techniques to customize a basic pattern to a personalised item and back. It consists out of a top and pants that will fit everyone, by using pins and a printed grid the clothing can be formed to the personality and build of the wearer.

Uniformal Expressions is a project that uses techniques found in traditional Dutch clothing to adapt to the wearers preferences. It consists of a top and pants that are universal. Using pins, the clothing can be formed to the personality and build of the wearer. On the fabric a grid can be found to use as a guide. By pleating, folding, and draping the pieces, the pieces go from a universal basic pattern to a personalised garment and back. Therefore, it becomes timeless and will last longer without losing the possibility to have character, individuality, and trendiness.
‘Uniformal expressions’ is a concept developed during the project C-DUTCH (Circular-Design) Inspired by Dutch cultural heritage, initiated by the Tactical Design research group in collaboration with the Holland Open Air Museum.
