For over a decade, Nadine Sterk and Lonny van Ryswyck have been engaging with local communities to showcase the narratives of the earth and all that it produces. By means of thorough analysis and processing of clay, sand, and wood from varying perspectives, the work of Atelier NL aims to re-establish the vital connection between people and the world we inhabit.

From soil they dug in the Dutch Noordoostpolder to sand samples sent to them from around the world, Earth Alchemy – 15 Years of Digging reveals the links between the most basic raw materials, their origins, uses, and the meanings they generate when we pause to give them some thought. In 'Think Global, Dig Local', Atelier NL takes you on a guided tour through the exhibition to tell the stories they have uncovered.

Museum van Bommel van Dam is a five-minute walk from Venlo train station. If you take the 14.49 train to Venlo from Eindhoven Central Station, you will be in time for the tour. 'Think Global, Dig Local' lasts approximately one hour, so you can take the 17.03 train back to Eindhoven, which arrives there at 17.41.
