Hydra will present work by Phil Procter, Earnest Studio (Rachel Griffin) and Tom Chung. Pressed up, supporting and overlapping, containing a shared modular language which has come to qualify each of their practices.
* Three-Headed * Nylon * Joints * Lighting * Grammar * Moving-Pictures * Shelving *
Hydra will present work by Phil Procter, Earnest Studio (Rachel Griffin) and Tom Chung, positioning their work against each other in a large-scale architectural manner. Pressed up, supporting and overlapping, the pieces created for this exhibition contain a shared modular language which has come to qualify each of their practices;
* ’This language is shared but who is it shared amongst? Here it is shared amongst three people setting out works in tandem in the historic Albert van Abbehuis. In acting and speaking out synchronously through this shared design language the three have made themselves into a single speaker that is three-headed. One body with three heads speaking—a body larger than any of the three were before they were one, and with three heads making phrases between them.’ *
The exhibition will further inhabit the Albert van Abbehuis with a selection of books, short films and sounds curated and created by a selection of invited artists. Three distinct spaces that respond to the themes of the exhibition, and further contextualise the design work on show.
