Dutch design studio House of Thol researches future proof living and creates products that make a sustainable lifestyle easier.
This DDW they are launching their latest design: Patella Crescenda, a natural sprouting dish with reservoir to successfully grow healthy micro greens all year round.
Year-round fresh micro greens
During the research for the Poma/Olera series, we learned a lot about storing fresh food like fruits and vegetables.
We became more aware of the natural processes surrounding food and, as a result, got even more interested in growing fresh greens ourselves.
Keeping up with a vegetable patch requires quite some time and energy, and only yields crops a few months a year.
We found that micro greens like cress are perfectly suited to be grown indoors all through the year.
All they need is light, water and warmth.
Especially water can be a challenge.
With the Patella Crescenda we made it super easy to grow fresh greens without having to worry about watering them daily.
The Patella Crescenda will be launched with a crowdfunding campaign this fall.
