A shining piece of jewellery draws a lot of attention to the body. In this project the quality of reflecting is pulled away from the human body and will be used to adorn the space instead.

Worn by space

Lisa Berden (1997°) is a Belgium designer who likes to mix different disciplines to create new visions of design. 'When light touches' originated from the fusion between her studies 'Interior Design' and 'Jewellery Design'. A piece of jewellery draws a lot of attention to the body. Lisa wants to pull this quality away from the human body and use it to adorn the space instead. She reads the space in advance based on its visual qualities and architectural impact. This includes physical aspects such as angles, materials and scale, but also intangible elements such as light and atmosphere. The space for which she makes an interior jewellery invites her to allow the qualities of brilliance, refractions and reflections to interact with the identity of this place. The materials and methods that facilitate this dialogue, are able to transform light. This creates mysterious aura's that change the impact of their surroundings through their presence. In this way the newly created objects will embellish the space.
