Haptic Fashion

Feel what you wear

Exploration of haptic textiles

This project is part of the S4Fashion program. For visually impaired individuals MotorSkins and The Interactive Textile Library are creating a mini collection of garments that are defined by haptic aesthetics.

Feeling fashion

This project was initiated as part of the S4Fashion program. For visually impaired individuals MotorSkins and The Interactive Textile Library are creating a mini collection of garments that are defined by haptic aesthetics. The main technique used to provide haptic feedback is through MotorSkin's textiles with embedded fluidics, which is lo-fi technology that will allow for accessible, soft and wearable interfaces.

During our exhibit at the Dutch Design Week we want to show you our explorations and take you along in our design journey. Come and feel what we have been working on.

About The Interactive Textile Library

The Interactive Textile Library (ITL) was founded by Julia van Zilt in 2021. ITL is an online platform that aims to present a platform for companies that produce interactive textiles (or the techniques to produce them) and designers that work with them. The goal is to connect different businesses and designers to stimulate the commercial integration and development of these novel types of textiles, bringing its benefits closer to the eventual consumer.
