The projects that Job van den Berg presents range from material research to industrially manufactured products, handmade furniture and unique artworks. Some projects are new, others are an extension of a collection or deepening of an ongoing research.
0-Series
Job van den Berg stretches material properties to new territories. He uses only wood veneer, for his O-Series. By rolling up the veneer into hollow tubes, he creates an intriguing play of structure, joints and volume. This reveals an unexpected, constructive strength of the oak veneer.
Metal Skins
In collaboration with a sheet metal machining factory Job van den Berg developed Metal Skins. Metal Skins are created by forging a material surface and sheet metal together under high pressure. Besides an appealing texture the industrial pressing process adds strength, tactility, character and individuality.
