To mark its 175th anniversary, Vlisco decided to transform its ugly concrete head office into a celebration of colour and movement. The challenge was to capture the creative essence of the company and to make the building as bold, surprising and vibrant as a Vlisco print design. Simone Post designed an intervention that is open to different interpretations, just like the brand’s fabric designs. The result is the largest mural in the Netherlands, painted entirely by hand with rollers and brushes and executed by painters’ collective ‘De Strakke Hand'. The mural reflects Vlisco’s mission and pride: to place design and creativity at the heart of everything it does.
