A vast amount of sheep wool in the Netherlands is considered waste. Marjo van Schaik highlights the qualities of local wool by utilizing all materials that otherwise would be discarded, into circular fabrics.
01 & 02: Gunya _ Discarded Dutch Wool Black & White
Concept: Marjo Van Schaik, Dasha Tsapenko
Material: Discarded wool from the Netherlands
Production: Marjo Van Schaik, Dasha Tsapenko
These Gunyas are made of felted wool which comes from Dutch farmers' sheep. This wool is considered waste in the Netherlands, for which the farmer has to pay to have it disposed of. Marjo and Dasha give this wool a new birth, collecting and hand-felting it. The result is a nice, warm and sturdy coat.
