CLARA BRANDT from Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach developed KOPĀ, a multifunctional table concept. The high quality design includes a round dining table with various inserts. The design inspires users to explore new ways of interacting with each other while preparing food with pleasure.
Form Language & Modularity
With elegant simplicity and versatility, the multifunctional table concept is a hit. The solid wood ash round tabletop and its dark toned inserts create a stunning hiqh quality visual effect. The light toned ash wood creates an inviting space for those around to share and dine with each other. The removable inserts in the table’s center, which can be used to temper, divide, rotate and turn the table, are its characteristic feature. Thanks to the table’s clever design, food can be easily reached from each side. The table concept encourages users to engage in new dining habits, such as eating together from one bowl. Strengthening the sense of community, users automatically eat more slowly and with greater awareness. The multipurpose design targeting food and beverage preparation, service and presentation is perfect for at home use as well as for events. A matching wood overlay can also be used to cover the table’s center. CNC milling allows for the four conical table legs to be firmly screwed into the table’s underside with form fitting accuracy.
Sustainability & Circular Design
Made of FSC certified wood and without the use of composite materials, the table is also a testament to sustainability. All the materials used can be separated by type and recycled. With Kopā’s soothing minimalist aesthetics, the young designer has skillfully united our changing multicultural dining habits into one product.
