Vogelbescherming Nederland presents the Nature-inclusive Building & Design Award to a project that strives to provide opportunities for biodiversity in urban areas.
The nominees will present themselves, after which the jury will announce the most nature-inclusive project of the past two years.

Why this Award?

More and more builders, designers and developers see the added value of a nature-inclusive approach to their project. They express this in a myriad of ways. Thanks to these trendsetters, there is an increasing number of good examples of nature-inclusive design and environmental planning, where greenery and biodiversity go hand in hand with sustainable urban development. This is also vital in boosting urban flora and fauna again.

However, the process from drawing board to a completed project is often long. Making it all the more important to be innovative and look ahead to what will be needed in the future. At Vogelbescherming Nederland, we see the importance of stimulating, innovative design that is scalable and practically applicable.

Building with nature

In a time when topics such as nature-inclusiveness, biodiversity, climate adaptation and circular construction are more relevant than ever, Vogelbescherming Nederland wants to shine the spotlight on these good examples. Because we will only be ready for the future when we build with nature!

Which builder, designer, developer or green planner brings the most life to the city with their project and proofs to be ready for the future?

In 2023, we will present the Nature-inclusive Building & Design Award for the third time to progressive nature-inclusive designs and projects. Scalability is a recurring theme, because we believe that a healthy living environment should be accessible to everyone.
This year, extra emphasis is placed on innovation and green planning, because a design or project does not stop at the hard boundaries of a building.
