Kiki van Eijk - Notes from Now
Kiki van Eijk - Notes from Now
Kiki & Joost invite artist Rogier Roeters into their space which is in full swing. Comments moves from abstract to literal, small to large scale: an exploration of universal human emotions, expressed with direct, intuitive and unfiltered immediacy.

Comments: observations between Kiki van Eijk, Joost van Bleiswijk & Rogier Roeters

Kiki van Eijk and Joost van Bleiswijk's space in Eindhoven is one of the most renowned in the city: a studio, a gallery, a workshop and an exhibition space, home to making in many forms. For Comments, they invite artist Rogier Roeters to present in that space. Inspired by each other's practices, the three do not work together directly but each instead responds to the world in a distinct way: from abstract, to literal, or in between. Comments explores how these different artistic voices can inspire, challenge and enrich one another, blurring the boundaries between art, design and everyday life.
Joost van Bleiswijk presents functional sculptures inspired by graffiti on urban surfaces, made from grey corrugated steel and mixed media.
Kiki van Eijk shows sculptures from 60cm to an imposing 5 meters tall, in ceramics, glass, textile yarns, wood, brass, steel and marble. Rogier Roeters contributes drawings and objects exploring universal human emotions: shame, doubt, fear, desire, loneliness, always through a direct, intuitive and unfiltered visual language. It's a show not to miss.

About Kiki and Joost

Kiki & Joost work individually and jointly putting creativity at the heart of it all, from what they do to how they do it. Their workshop is a massive space dedicated to the production of unique pieces in a practice that allows room for intuition and instinct. Regardless of the scale, handmade and human touch remain at the heart of their process, reinforcing a physical approach to contemporary design. They run Studio Thinking Hands, a core studio within Design Academy Eindhoven's BA program
