The world is changing rapidly. A government that can keep pace with what society needs is essential. Let's develop that together. Discover what a design approach within the government can do.

Building the state together: the government of tomorrow

What kind of government do we need to take on major transitions like climate and digitalisation? It calls for a government that can keep pace, now and in the future. We do this together, with society and with each other as government bodies. We take a hard look at our own work, listen for signals from society, and test what actually works. Join us at the Dutch Design Week, where we will explore the government of tomorrow together.

Working together on major challenges

You probably experience the government as one single entity. Behind the scenes, however, that government is made up of many different organizations, each with its own role, expertise, and perspective. Particularly with major societal challenges, where change happens fast, the government needs to stay agile and weigh different interests and perspectives against one another. One emerging way to do that is a design-driven approach.

Design as an approach

Design isn't only about things you can see or touch. Besides buildings and cities, you can also design policy, services, and collaboration. We use the power of design as a tool to get to the heart of a question, explore ideas, and move forward together. By bringing different perspectives to the table, discovering where they clash, and testing ideas in practice, we find out what works. This is how we build a government that can move with the times and with society.

Come see for yourself! At DDW, we show what this looks like in practice. Discover projects where design is already making a difference, meet the people behind them, and join the conversation in our workshop space. This is how we shape the government of tomorrow, together.
