Rabobank

Rabobank believes in the power of art and creativity to drive societal breakthroughs. That's why Rabobank is partnering with Dutch Design Foundation. In a collaborative journey, we've been searching for projects, ideas, and concepts in the field of design that focus on energy and food transition.

As transition partners, we can work together in a profound, exploratory, and (re)designing manner. What new perspectives exist for a sustainable living environment? How can we reimagine the current food system? These are complex yet essential questions for the present and a sustainable future. As a strategic partner of the Embassy of Food and the Embassy of Circular & Biobased Building, we support research, dialogues, and innovative directions through creative imagination.

Main partner Dutch Design Week

Rabobank supports Dutch Design Week as a main partner. The collaboration between Dutch Design Foundation and Rabobank is manifested in the Embassy of Food and the Embassy of Circular & Biobased Building. Additionally, on Ketelhuisplein, you'll find the exploratory BURO MISO. This is a project by artist and artistic researcher Arne Hendriks, developed with the support of Rabobank.

In BURO MISO, the relationship between humans and the (healing power of) miso takes center stage. Miso is a fermented bean paste from Japan. Together with the audience, BURO MISO explores the role it can play in various transitions, such as the protein and energy transition.

Transition Partners

We aim to contribute to sustainable living, housing, and business, with sufficient and healthy food for all. As a cooperative bank, we have integrated sustainability into our operations. Our inclusive approach is designed to guide customers and stakeholders towards sustainability step by step. To achieve this, we leverage our financial solutions, knowledge, and access to networks.

We regard the Dutch Design Foundation (DDF) as an enabling partner in addressing these challenges. Dutch Design Foundation (DDF) perceives Rabobank as a systemic partner that empowers DDF to assemble a coalition of partners. Effecting change necessitates the collaboration of academia, designers, governmental bodies, and major organizations at the same table.

With this partnership, Rabobank is thus introducing a new perspective into its organization. The ambition: to learn from each other and harness design power to accelerate transitions. Where this expedition will lead us remains partially uncertain. And that's not surprising because it's an experiment with an outcome that's challenging to predict precisely. However, it's widely acknowledged that something must be done to confront the challenges of our time. To achieve this, we must be willing to approach things differently. After all, if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got. Our goal, in any case, is to develop powerful, innovative, and creative ideas that will propel both our bank and society forward.

About Cooperative Rabobank

Rabobank is a cooperative bank with a mission. Together with our stakeholders, we have been committed to a sustainable society and addressing significant societal challenges for 125 years. In the United Kingdom, Rabobank serves private and business customers, while globally, the bank focuses on the food and agricultural sector. Our guiding principle has always been: together, we achieve more than alone.

Since its inception, Rabobank has operated in the same way: cooperatively. And we intend to continue because the future is also cooperative. Rabobank embraces innovation, growth, and sustainability, investing in the collaborative development of solutions that benefit everyone: the customer, the community, and the world. Additionally, the bank allocates a portion of its profits to society. Sometimes, this support is local, while other times, it extends beyond borders, such as assisting African farmers. Through these efforts, we learn from one another, reinforce each other, and collectively ensure our financial well-being, keeping our towns and cities attractive and vibrant.
