sustainable lamp system

Own source

"NOWO" is a project that merges digital craftsmanship with traditional techniques to create eco-friendly lighting solutions. Using innovative materials, it reintroduces waste into the production cycle, promoting sustainability and reducing environmental impact.

Sustainable Design

The "NOWO" lamp utilizes a proprietary biomaterial made from protein mixed with waste such as paper, wood, and textiles to create its bases. The lampshades are 3D printed using PLA, a corn-derived bioplastic. All external parts are biodegradable or compostable, while internal electronics are designed to be reusable, ensuring that the lamp has a minimal environmental footprint.

Circular Economy Approach

"NOWO" aims to give new life to unwanted organic textile waste through a special biodegradable coating. The modular design allows for replaceable components, which promotes adaptability and durability. This reduces the need for unnecessary production, conserving valuable resources and minimizing waste.

Longevity & Adaptability

With a focus on longevity, the system allows easy replacement of lamp components, ensuring that functional electronics can be reused in new models. A unique biodegradable binder was developed for visual parts that may need more frequent updates, addressing the common problem of boredom with design. This ensures that materials remain within the production loop, emphasizing efficiency and resourcefulness.
