With SURFACE | EFFECT, Studio TOIMII and HUSK Ceramics have started a research into the (im)possibilities of recycling the residual material from porcelain production. In this process, not only porcelain is recycled, but the technical limits are also explored and the beauty of pigment visualized.
The tension and beauty of recycled, solid porcelain in a spatial, balanced composition.
With 'SURFACE | EFFECT', Studio TOIMII and HUSK Ceramics have started a research into the (im)possibilities of recycling the unavoidable residual material from the porcelain production of HUSK Ceramics.
Within this process, not only material is recycled, but also the boundaries of porcelain are investigated and the organic tension of this timeless material is shaped; by casting the beauty of the effect of the pigment patterns in a tangible form, after the design of the SURFACE coffee tables by Studio TOIMII.
The SURFACE coffee table is formed by two horizontal round surfaces that are crossed by two vertical rectangular surfaces. By executing this balanced composition in porcelain, the tension of both the design and the material come together in a new layering as unique, timeless interior objects.
