The project Terror of Beauty is a visualisation of critique towards the trend of artificially beautifying the face, happening in the mainstream. How far we are willing to go in violating the female face for beauty? What are the future possibilities and strategies of beautification?

This trend is shown clearly in the many video tutorials on
YouTube, in which vloggers show and instruct their audience on how to enhance their beauty by improving their facial features through cosmetic procedures. With her project Terror of Beauty, Sarah questions the role beauty tutorials play in the perception of beauty and how far people are willing to go to achieve this new standard. The video installation shows a possible outcome of the battle for the perfect face. Fascinated by the clash between natural and artificial beauty in the digital world we find ourselves in, Sarah sketches a new ideal. One where a unique idea of identity no longer exists.
