With an interactive flashlight, visitors can shine on the kitchen, so that the shadows of the objects become visible within the frame of the spotlight. Soon the shadows begin to come alive. Every object has its own character traits, emotions and feelings, just like us.
Self Spot - Interactive installation
The shadow world that comes to life shows our human, recognizable but often unexpressed emotions and feelings. Most of us recognize the taboo on expressing our emotions and feelings, but do not make expressing them self-evident. In the short and long term, this has physical and mental consequences. To break the taboo, Self Spot (2022) puts our difficulties in the spotlight, literally and figuratively.
