Emma Bellengé's work arises as she walks through the city with imposed restrictions and a fascination for color, restrictions and repetition. Snapshots along the route were captured in drawings that were later translated into textiles such as jacquard weaving, crochet and embroidery.
Repetition and its fascination
The looping motion of crochet, the back-and-forth motion of weaving and the dotting motion of embroidery and quilting. In this way, Emma Bellengé creates a new urban landscape based on colour.
