Golden hour, after dark
By six in the evening it is dark outside. What we make is the other kind of light: the last hour of afternoon sun through a window, arriving at nine at night. The surface of every lamp is a fine woven relief, thousands of ridges laid down one pass at a time. Light does not spill past it, it comes through it, so what reaches the room is warm and soft and even. Where it falls it leaves a pattern on the wall that moves when you do. And there is no bright point anywhere, so you can look straight at it. The shade is not covering the bulb. It is doing the work.
Warm relief, cold metal
Warm against cold, soft against hard. Every lamp is a printed relief you want to touch, held by a ring of brushed aluminium that stays cool under your hand. That ring appears on every piece in the collection, always where the base becomes the shade, and below it the base is cut with deep grooves that catch the light along every edge. Most lamps are chosen with the light switched off. This one you pick up first. Printed in bio-based and recycled material, finished by hand, and kept to a handful of colours. Never a coloured shade, because that would decide the colour of your evening for you.
Made in Amsterdam, once you choose
Nothing here is made before someone wants it. Your lamp does not exist until you have chosen it, and it is then printed in our studio in Amsterdam and finished by hand. No container crossing an ocean, no warehouse of pieces waiting for an owner. It also means the piece can carry something of yours: a name, a date, or a line only two people understand, engraved into the object itself. Every lamp leaves with a passport in the owner's name. Most homes are assembled from whatever was available. This is a room you decided.
