Frequently asked questions

Through the Design Tours booking system:

• Step 1.
  Choose one of the available Design Tours. More information about the different tours can be found here here.
  
  
• Step 2.
  Select an available date and time slot, and choose the number of participants.
  
  
• Step 3.
  The maximum number of participants per tour is 15 people. Booking for more than 15 participants? Multiple tours will automatically be added to your booking.
  
  This works as follows in the booking system:
  1. Enter the total number of participants in the form.
  2. The system will show how many tours are required to accommodate everyone, initially within the same time slot.
• Step 4.
  Select the language in which you would like to follow the tour(s): Dutch or English. Prefer another language? Please email tours@dutchdesignfoundation.com and we will see if we can accommodate your request.
  
  
• Step 5.
  Add the tour reservation to your cart.
  
  
• Step 6.
  Check the overview of the selected tour. Everything correct? Continue to booking details.
  
  
• Step 7.
  To prepare the quotation, we ask you to provide your contact details and reference number (this can also be emailed later).
  

  Please note: make sure to enter the correct information in this form. These details will be used for the quotation and invoice.

• Step 8.
  Review the full overview of your booking and complete your reservation.
  
  
• Step 9.
  You will receive a quotation from us. You then have 14 days to accept the quotation. A payment link will be included with the quotation. After payment, you will receive the invoice.
  
  Booking a Custom Tour? After signing the quotation, we will ask about your organisation’s areas of interest. Based on this information, our team will curate a tailor-made tour.

Custom Tours are tailored to the interests of your organisation and vary in duration from 1.5 to 3 hours.

The starting location for the tours is the DDW Business Lounge in Area51 on Ketelhuisplein.

The Mission Tours might start at the Fuutlaan. More information about this will follow at a later stage.

The Custom Tours and Strijp-S Bites & Insights can be booked until Friday 2 October. All other Design Tours can be booked until Monday 19 October.

The maximum number of participants per tour is 15 people. Booking for more than 15 participants? In that case, multiple tours will be booked.

This works as follows in the booking system:

1. Enter the total number of participants in the form.
2. The system will show how many tours are required to accommodate everyone, initially within the same time slot.
3. Is the selected time slot already fully booked? In that case, the system will automatically look for other available time slots for the remaining tours.

This is possible, up to a maximum of 15 people per tour. 

To make this possible, you can book additional regular DDW tickets in the ticket shop. Please make sure these DDW tickets are exchanged for DDW wristbands before the start of the tour.

Please note: it is important that you let the Design Tours team know about any additional participants so that they can make sure the required equipment is available at the start of the tour. Do this by emailing tours@dutchdesignfoundation.com.

You can register extra participants until Wednesday 14 October at the latest.

No, unfortunately, we do not accept ticket returns. However, Dutch Design Week runs for nine days, and the tickets can be used on any of those days. We recommend giving the extra tickets to a colleague, friend, or family member!

No, unfortunately this is not possible. 

Additional bikes can be rented at various locations during Dutch Design Week. It is also possible to rent public transport bikes at Central Station and Strijp-S Station.

The tours take place from Saturday, October 17 through Saturday, October 24.

Design Tours can be booked in time slots, with a new slot available every 30 minutes. A limited number of tours is available per time slot.

If no tours are available for a specific time slot, the maximum number of tours has already been booked at that time and no additional tours can depart due to the availability of Design Guides.

The tours range from 1.5 to 3 hours in duration.

The costs for the tours are listed with each tour. In addition to the tour, DDW entrance tickets are booked per participant. These tickets are valid not only during the tour, but throughout the entire week from Saturday, October 17 to Sunday, October 25.

For the Mission Tours, bicycle rental costs are included.
For the Strijp-S Bites & Insights Tour, additional costs per person apply for coffee/tea, lunch and drinks.

All prices listed are excluding VAT. A full price overview, including VAT, will be provided during the booking process.

Tickets purchased on invoice receive a volume discount instead of the Early Bird discount. The Early Bird tickets are only for individual visitors.

Tours are offered in Dutch or English. If you prefer another language, please contact us at tours@dutchdesignfoundation.com. We will then check if it is possible to arrange the tour in your preferred language.

Unfortunately not — the bicycle is reserved specifically for you and your group for the duration of the Design Tour.

You can indicate this while booking a tour. We will then contact you to ensure proper accessibility arrangements.
