Being a part of nature.
Nature is something we are all part of, yet sometimes feel disconnected from. The moment when we are all part of nature is when our life begins and when it ends. No one knows what comes after, but it is perhaps the most natural thing that can happen. Everything is born, lives, and dies. Death is something terrible for those who are left behind, yet even terrible things can hold a certain beauty. Someone leaves behind an emptiness, but also an immense amount of love.
Beauty and sorrow
I want to be able to mean something to someone during this vulnerable moment in their life, to offer a sense of comfort. That is why I create unique, ceramic handmade urns, sculptures that embrace how something deeply painful can also hold something deeply beautiful. Each of my designs carries its own meaning. The swans represent love, loyalty, and elegance. The cocoons represent rest, transformation, and rebuilding. And finally, the seed pods represent the moment of stillness and rest before everything begins. Every urn is unique and shaped entirely by hand, just like the people whose remains they hold.
