How do I submit an application for my project for DDW?
You can only submit a project via My DDW. This year, we have two deadlines and two assessment moments:
- Projects submitted by 15 May, we will assess by 1 June. Please note that projects that are outdoors and/or require a permit must be assessed during this period. Also, if you have a project for which you still want to apply for funding, it is wise to apply early.
- Applications received between 16 May and 16 June will be assessed before 30 June.
- If you are graduating this year and want to participate in DDW, you have until 30 June to apply. From 1 July, the possibility to apply as a graduate also closes and you can no longer register.
- Please note: the earlier you submit a project, the more time to find and secure a suitable location for your presentation.
What do I get for my participation in DDW?
DDW takes care of the overarching organisation, promotion and communication of the entire event and also provides general signage and routing.
For all official DDW participants, we take care of the following:
- Listing on the (free) DDW floor plan with a circulation of 70,000 (only when participating with a 9-day expo).
- Own programme page within the online DDW programme on DDW.nl. Here, visitors can find information about your organisation, project location, opening hours, logo, special events, themes, photos and videos.
- Numbered location sign (for location managers). This sign corresponds to a location number on the map and helps visitors spot your location. Please note: for multiple participants at 1 location, 1 location number is used (applies only to 9-day exhibitions).
- DDW tickets: Depending on the participant category and the associated fee, you will receive a number of DDW tickets for your own use. Check here how many tickets are available per category.
- Support in finding the right location for your project.

What are the costs to participate in DDW?
The participation fees depend on the size of your design studio or organisation and can be found on the participation costs page.
