There are 8 areas throughout Eindhoven. But what is there to do in each area? We help you on your way with the Area Sneak Peeks! Time for Strijp-S. One of the larger locations of DDW, where there’s lots to explore. Time for some help in this Area Sneak Peek. Small tip: use the indication B1, B2 etc., to find the locations on the map. Handy!

Klokgebouw // B1

Klokgebouw is traditionally bursting at its industrial seams during DDW. Where to start? Start by wandering through the Labyrinth by DDW ambassador Floris Alkemade. Here you will learn the art of changing direction, perfect for this location! Or have a conversation with a tree in the art installation Autonomous Tree, part of the bigger subtheme expo It's in our nature. And under the heading Class of 2021, you will find the projects of all academies, except the Design Academy Eindhoven (Beursgebouw). Of course, this is only a fraction of what you can discover in the Klokgebouw. Check the programme for more information.

Ketelhuisplein // B2

Ketelhuisplein is always a good place to be, not least because there are all kinds of pop-up bars and eateries, which is also important when you’re soaking up design. Carry your snack or drink and step right through the Portal of Studio Speciaal. Here, you look at the past with a contemporary view. Or discover Arne Hendriks' village, Hara Hachi Bu, and learn how 80% is also enough.

Area 51 // B4

Dive into the basement of the skatepark! There you’ll find the exhibition of Antigoon and Ralph Roelse, 2 artists whose roots lie in graffiti. And that is reflected in their work: raw, geometric and urban.

Microlab Hall // B15

This new location houses the subtheme exhibition Things That Matter, which includes an interactive installation by ambassador Christien Meindertsma. Here you can also see the work of Antoine Peters who distorts, stretches, repeats and reconfigures clothing. Alienating and cheerful! Don't miss the Dutch Design Awards exhibition and discover all the nominees. Want to know who will win? Check out the talk show DDW TV, where every day, a winner is announced.

Natlab // B10 // Kastanjelaan 500

How does it feel to be an earthworm, bee or fungus? Mediamatic and Baltan are organising a big dress-up party where they invite artists, designers and passers-by to dress up as the most remarkable (animal) species of our ecosystem and celebrate biodiversity!
